P.B. Dhanish was born on 20th march 1965 in Calicut, Kerala. He works as a lecturer in department of mechanical engineering in National institute of Calicut. Dhanish learnt chess at the age of 7, from his father, who got inspired after the Fisher vs. Spassky match. In year 1983 he joined the Indian correspondence chess assosiation (CCAI), after seeing a small write up in Chess India in year 1982. Couple of years later he became a tournament director of CCAI. After correspondence chess he started to play OTB chess, but only in local tournaments. |
